Teen Dies in Overnight Motorcycle Crash on East Gulf to Lake Hwy

INVERNESS – A Hernando Teen died in an early morning motorcycle crash on East Gulf to Lake Hwy.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, 45-year-old Kenneth Ray Rumley was traveling westbound in the center turning lane, approaching South Lois Terrace, when he turned into the path of a motorcycle driven by 19-year-old Tanner James McFall. As a result, Tanner’s motorcycle collided with the rear passenger side of Rumley’s vehicle. Tanner was ejected onto the roadway and died at the scene.

Rumley was not injured in the crash but a passenger, 41-year-old Christopher Rumley suffered serious injuries and was transported to Ocala Regional Hospital for treatment.

Alcohol was not a factor, say officials, but charges are pending.
